Griffin Originals are simply some of the most unique and creative custom wood signs available. They are each individually crafted from reclaimed and weathered wood using weathered hardware for trim and fine details. Each piece is a beautiful custom made design for which there will be no duplicate. Unique from one another, even similar pieces are set apart by paint colors, natural wood details and weathering patterns. This is largely due to the size of most of the pieces that are designed by Sean, our master craftsman. Each sign generally weighs more than any traditional retail bought signs and this is due to the types of wood used to build a sign from scratch.
Each sign is created by Sean to suit the particular function of the sign; is there a quote or verse, is the sign going to be a nameplate that shows the year a family was established or is the sign part of a journey marker that will hold many signs and mark several significant events for a family? So many things to consider. . . the creativity just keeps flowing. What color wood, what color paint, how many lines, does there need to be hardware, where will the sign be displayed..indoors or out?
For this reason, most signs made by Griffin Originals will require some lead time. A consultation with Sean will be necessary to understand the specific needs of each buyer and the ultimate purpose for the design. However, there are more generic styles that may be ordered right on line with our easy order form. These designs include one line signs...just a family name { SMITH }, or a town { Pembroke }, or a simple quote { Live, Love & Laugh }. These designs are uncomplicated and require little consulting. However, if you wish for a sign to have special colors or symbols added, then it is necessary to speak with a Griffin Originals team member. When in doubt, ask! And we are passionate about creating beautiful & lasting works of art.
